I texted JB to see when he’d be bringing Tom home. He said 8:30 tomorrow morning. He’d received the latest round of divorce papers from my attorney on Friday. I asked if he’d be dropping off signed papers. He said yes!!!

Today would have been my twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Instead, I’m blogging my book, “Thank You Ashley Madison.”

My first book, “Diary of an Alcoholic Housewife,” published five years ago, began this way. And as with my first book, I’m feeling scared and queasy.

JB (Joe Blow) and I didn’t make twenty-five years, but we made twenty-one, the last five of which JB was on Ashley Madison, a website for married people who want to cheat—among other things.

How did we get here? Here's the year that unraveled us. It’s the story of a year, but also the story of a lifetime, or many lifetimes.
